Related legislation / How infection can get into the body / The principles of the ‘chain of infection’ / How a workers personal health or hygiene might pose a risk to the individual being supported / Common types of personal protective clothing, equipment and how and when to use them / The principles of safe handling of infected or soiled linen and clinical waste / Additional infection control measures taken during an outbreak of infection and the care of vulnerable individuals affected / Practical: Correct application and removal of gloves and aprons / Effective hand hygiene/washing (using training glow gel and UV disclosing light).
